Respect 90 Receives ServiceSource Florida’s Community Partner of the Year Award

2017 ServiceSource Florida Excellence Awards Celebrate Prolific Year

Our Executive Director Rick Vaughn (center) receives ServiceSource Florida’s Community Partner of the Year award in recognition and appreciation of Respect 90’s exemplary
support of their High School High Tech program by developing championship opportunities for students with disabilities.


Amid cheers, tears, and applause, 17 community partners, employees, and people with disabilities were honored for their achievements at the 2017 ServiceSource Florida Service Excellence Awards Luncheon.

Held at the waterside Marriott Sand Key in Clearwater Beach and emceed by WDUV-FM The Dove radio host Ann Kelly, the luncheon began with an impressive State of the Corporation address delivered by board of directors treasurer Frank Burke (right), and concluded with poignant acceptance remarks by awardees.

Recognized for exemplary support and contributions to our mission were: Community Partners of the Year ― The Salvation Army Suncoast Family Stores, Ashley and Morris Jackson; Skip Milos, Skip Milos Productions; Rick Vaughn, Respect 90 Foundation, and; Travis Coulliette, The ARC of Alachua County. Corporate Citizen of the Year ― Bayside Solutions, Inc., Dan Doyle, Founder, CEO & President. Community Employer of the Year ― Ruby Tuesday, Ignatio Duarto, Manager. Staff Employees ― Job Placement Specialist of the Year, Sarah Corden, Placement Coordinator, and; Rehabilitation Professional of the Year, Lucas Halverson, Vocational Rehabilitation Supervisor.

Service Excellence  Alex Walworth, High School High Tech; Ronderik Curtis, High School High Tech; Nick Hildebrand, Burger King, and; Alex Nimis, Florida Division of Management Services. In addition to acknowledging HSHT, Curtis commended classmate Walworth. “I thank you for motivating and inspiring me to achieve my dreams,” he said.

Placement Employees ­ Alex Dutton, 4 Rivers BBQ, Supportive Employment; Robert Ritt, RBC Construction Tampa, Warrior Bridge; Henry Torres, St. Paul’s Independent Schools, Employment Services, and; Geoffrey Clingenpeel, Publix Super Markets, Supportive Employment.

Many thanks as well to Autumn Samuels, program manager of ServiceSource Interpreting and Deaf Services, and freelance interpreter Joseph Kistler for a masterful job of sign-language interpretation.
