Los Angeles Angels Manager Joe Maddon and his wife, Jaye, and their Respect 90 Foundation have partnered with We Agape You, a Pennsylvania non profit dedicated to providing affordable homes and employment opportunities for veterans and the needy.

Under the direction of Reverend Randolph Simmons, We Agape You also revitalizes neighborhoods by employing veterans to rehabilitate distressed properties.

Through this partnership, the Maddons donated the use of a former family home to serve as the group’s first headquarters in the family’s hometown of Hazleton, PA. Said Reverend Simmons: “We are so grateful to the Maddons.  It is a beautiful home and will allow everyone here to feel at ease. It will be family helping family…God’s family.”

Reverend Simmons created We Agape You ten years ago as a food pantry for veterans before re-directing the organization’s focus on employment and housing needs in the counties of Luzerne, Berks and Schuylkill.

“We are so fortunate to be able to help We Agape You and Reverend Simmons bring such a positive growth opportunity to Hazleton,” said Jaye Maddon. “We believe we could not have found a better partner to utilize and care for this lovely home.”

The Respect 90 Foundation seeks to provide at risk children and families opportunities to develop championship attitudes through sports, academics and community involvement in places where Joe and Jaye call home: Hazleton, Tampa, FL and Long Beach, CA.  That outreach has also included Mesa, AZ and Chicago.
