Ex-Yankee Bernie Williams, New Cub’s Manager David Ross Will Join Joe Maddon at HIP’s 9th Annual Broad Street Bash


HAZLETON, PA— Four-time World Series Champion and five-time All Star centerfielder Bernie Williams and David Ross, a catcher for two world Series champions and Joe Maddon’s successor as manager of the Chicago Cubs, will join Maddon at the Hazleton Integration Project’s Ninth Annual Broad Street Bash on Friday, December 13.

The fun-filled event will be held at The Pines Eatery at 8 West Broad Street in Hazleton from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The “B Street Band,” the Original Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band, will perform throughout the evening which will also include celebrity guests, “casino-style games” and an auction of unique sports memorabilia.  

Williams spent 16 seasons in the major leagues, all with the Yankees. His uniform number 51 was retired by the Yankees in 2015. Ross, played 15 seasons in the major leagues and earned World Series rings with the Boston Red Sox and Chicago Cubs.

Maddon, a Hazleton native and three-time Manager of the Year, was named manager of the Los Angeles Angels on October 16.


All proceeds from the Broad Street Bash will benefit the Hazleton Integration Project, a community-based effort that seeks to unite the people of many different cultures who call Hazleton home. The project’s main focus is to sustain a community center geared at economically disadvantaged youth and adults. The facility, known as the Hazleton One Community Center, continues to host many educational, athletic and cultural activities at little or no cost to participants.
