MESA, AZ—The Respect 90 Foundation has designated two East Valley Arizona nonprofits to receive partial proceeds from the Try Not to Suck in the Desert Golf Classic at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale on March 7.

ICAN (Investing in Chandler Area Neighborhoods) is a free, out-of-school time program. Since its founding in 1991, ICAN has remained dedicated to its mission to provide free, comprehensive programs that empower youth to be productive, self-confident, and responsible members of the community. ICAN’s goal is to break the cycle of poverty, creating a new pathway for youth to achieve future success.

Pops & Jr. Youth Golf Program is open to kids from every walk of life and every income bracket. The goal of the program is simple according to co-founders, Joe Dahlstrom and Hub Goyen III: open the same doors to opportunity for these kids that opened for us through the game of golf.

The Respect 90 Foundation seeks to provide children and families opportunities to develop championship attitudes through sports, academics and community involvement in the places where Joe and his wife, Jaye, call home: Mesa, AZ, Tampa, FL, Long Beach, CA and Joe’s hometown of Hazleton, PA.
